Looking back over Finegreen’s first ten years, three key themes emerge time and again. These are the ‘3-Rs’ – relationships, resilience and relevance.
Relationships, because we have worked very hard to understand, and meet, the detailed needs of clients and candidates alike – so that we can help both find the tightest possible fit.
Resilience, because we have weathered storms such as the deepest-ever economic recession – and emerged stronger than ever.
And relevance, as we have kept ahead of changes in the needs of the health sector – including the growing clamour for excellent leadership and workforce development in the NHS - against the background of unprecedented financial constraints.
Here we take a look at the challenges and changes that have faced Finegreen, what our clients and candidates think of our efforts on their behalves – and what the future might hold.
Here’s to the next ten years – and thank-you to everyone who has played a part in Finegreen’s success story.
Chief Executive, Finegreen Associates
Finegreen has spent the past ten years helping the healthcare sector find people with the necessary skills to confront these inceasing headwinds - as well as offering managers at all levels support in developing their careers.
As Neil Fineberg explains elsewhere on this site, the company's reputation and success has been achieved by working hard to build robust relationships with clients and candidates alike. This is a philosphy that is in Finegreen's DNA and will, I'm sure, see the company go from strength to strength in the future.
The story of Finegreen
Ten Year Timeline
Finegreen at events!
Due to our passion for the Healthcare market and being a market leader in the placement of 'Healthcare Leaders' across the UK and in International markets, it seemed only right to give something back to the market. In the wake of London 2012, we wanted to continue along the Olympic theme and with budgets and spend still under the microscope we offered a fantastic value for money leadership conference, with guest speakers including;
Former Olympic High Jumper and Olympic Medal Winner - STEVE SMITH, recognised as one of the best motivational and inspirational speakers in the UK;
Other 'Olympians' of the Healthcare sector;
JAN SOBIERAJ - Managing Director, NHS Leadership Academy
DAVID RAMSEY - Head of Human Capital Consulting, Deloitte
YVONNE SAWBRIDGE - Senior Fellow - Health Services Management Centre, University of Birmingham
Ever since our first healthcare event at HFMA's Annual Conference in 2006, we've looked to add some creativity and innovation to our exhibition stands, offering different forms of interactivity for delegates, ranging from F1 Racing games & Batak machines to adding a little wow factor with some brilliant mind readers and award winning magicians!
We look forward to attending, and hosting, many more in the years to come!
Our clients and candidates
Most recruitment agencies will claim to offer clients valuable advice on key roles, and access to suitable candidates. What singles out Finegreen from the pack – and has been at the heart of our success in the past ten years – is a commitment to build lasting relationships with our clients, getting to know their detailed needs rather than simply parachuting in for a given appointment.
In the words of one of our clients, quoted here, "What sets them apart is the level of understanding they have of you and your organisation before they speak with you, not to anticipate but to understand and prepare".
Let me take this opportunity of our tenth birthday to assure existing and potential clients that this philosophy of building robust relationships and partnerships is firmly embedded in Finegreen’s philosophy and will remain a cornerstone of our business approach for many years to come.
One of our main successes over the past ten years has been to develop an ever-growing pool of talented candidates – achieving this by establishing a clear picture of people’s skills, ambitions and development needs.
This means working closely with our candidates, whether they simply want to pick up the phone to discuss a particular role, or keep tabs with job and development opportunities with Finegreen consultants experienced in a range of specialisms, from finance to estates, as well as senior executive positions.
It is in the interests of all concerned – candidates, clients and ourselves – for us to continue to value, and nurture these relationships, and I can give an assurance that we will continue this high level of support in the years ahead.
The Finegreen Team
A growing company such as Finegreen – operating in an extremely competitive area like healthcare – relies a great deal on teamwork at all levels of the business. We are at our best when we work as a team, and are firing on all cylinders, as has been demonstrated by the series of awards and business wins which we have achieved in recent years.
Like most companies we have had our ups and downs – as I mention in my review of the past ten years – but we have come through these challenges, have learned from them and have continued to go from strength to strength.
I’d like to thank everyone who has made a positive contribution to that success – especially our current team which has been working harder than ever in recent times. It certainly wouldn’t have happened without you!
